Where We Wall
There are several sites where we have been walling for a number of years.
We have been walling for the National Trust at Kettlewell in the Yorkshire Dales, Brimham Rocks near Harrogate, and Braithwaite Hall near Leyburn.
At Shibden Hall near Halifax, with the West Yorkshire Branch, we have constructed a permanent exhibition of walling styles and features found in Yorkshire with an example of a dry stone shepherds hut with corbelled roof.
Perhaps our most frequented venue is Otley Chevin, where our certification site is located, several courses are run, and where for many years we have been maintaining and rebuilding the walls in and around the park.
The Leyburn group are often to be found at Bellerby, Foxglove Covert near Richmond, and lately near the Druids Temple at Ilton.
In addition we attend many of the local shows at Harrogate (especially the Great Yorkshire Show), Weedon, Otley, Askwith, Nidderdale, and the Dales Festival of Food and Drink at Leyburn.
